Jon Krizan is a registered architect based in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi whose work is shaped by an international practice spanning Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. His approach intertwines the unique qualities of place, ecological systems, and the needs of local communities into an architecture inseparable from land, climate, and people. While working in Singapore with WOHA, internationally recognized for pioneering the integration of architecture and landscape, Jon developed a lasting interest in the relationship between the built environment and living ecosystems. He expanded this research at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Pritzker Prize winner Kazuyo Sejima, where his thesis reimagined the ancient Hawaiian ahupuaʻa as a framework for the contemporary city.
